PCOS · PCOD · PMOS consultation

Three abbreviations, one set of concerns.

You may have seen these on a scan report or heard them from a friend. They describe closely related patterns involving the ovaries, hormones and periods.

Medical termPCOS

Polycystic ovary syndrome

A hormonal condition that often shows up as irregular periods, acne, extra hair growth and difficulty with weight.

Everyday term in IndiaPCOD

Polycystic ovarian disease

The term most people use in conversation. It is commonly used to mean the same picture as PCOS.

Also seen on reportsPMOS

Another abbreviation

You may meet this on ultrasound or lab reports, or hear it at clinics. It points to the same family of findings and symptoms.

The label matters less than how your body is behaving. A diagnosis is based on your symptoms, an ultrasound and blood tests. If you do not have one yet, you can still book and share what you have.

Having a few of these does not confirm PCOS, because other conditions cause them too. That is why a proper assessment comes first.

How long is a usual cycle?

Count from the first day of one period to the first day of the next. In adults, 21 to 35 days is the usual range. Cycles that are regularly longer than 35 days, or fewer than nine periods in a year, are worth getting checked.

Days between the start of one period and the start of the next.

FAQ

Before you book.

Is an online consultation enough?

Homoeopathic case taking relies on a detailed conversation about your symptoms, history and lifestyle, and that works well online. If something needs an in-person examination or tests, you will be told plainly.

Can I consult if I have not been diagnosed?

Yes. If you have symptoms but no diagnosis yet, book and share what you have. You may be advised to get an ultrasound or blood tests so the picture is clear.

Should I stop my current medicines?

No. Do not stop or change any prescribed medicine on your own. Share the full list at your consultation so your care is planned with all of it in view.

Do you see children?

Yes. Paediatric complaints are among the concerns Dr. Jayalalitha consults for.

How soon will I see a change?

It varies from person to person, and no outcome can be promised. Follow-up consultations are how progress is reviewed and the plan is adjusted.

What are the fees and timings?

Call or message on 7674939265. Current timings and consultation fees are shared when you book.
